I can tell you that my TENS unit has given me a great deal of relief. In fact I am using it right now on a rotator cuff injury to control the pain. I am using a 4-electrode unit with the first channel pair on the front and back of the joint, and the pair from the second channel on the top and side of the joint. I am using a pulse width setting of 250, a pulse frequency setting of 100hz, and an intensity setting varied between 45% to 60%. I am running the unit in modulated mode also. You should ask your doctor about using one, because it could be a very good thing. I know it helps me very much, and I don’t have to to eat pain medication 4 times a day since I started using the TENS. I first learned about TENS when I was in nursing school back in 1992. I never pictured myself using one, but I am so glad I did. Go talk to your doctor about it, if you have not already done so. Good luck, and I hope you are able to get some relief.
